About the Mélange

Mélange is a blend of American and Mediterranean styles in a historic home from 1920 that is recorded in the National Register of Historic Places. Eleven foot ceilings, ornate mirrors, antique lamps, marble fireplaces and oriental carpets complement an eclectic house decor. The old grandeur of the grand house with its traditional gardens offers exceedingly romantic settings for indoor and outdoor weddings and private parties .

A stay at Mélange is a culinary experience. You will enjoy our breakfast and strong coffees or teas. Our niche offering for house guests or other patrons is the candlelight dinner served in private with antique bone china service, silver and crystalware and fine linens. We are ecologically conscientious, favour to use organic and local protein and produce, are members of Slowcook USA and continue receiving one of the highest health department sanitation grades of the area.With advance notice, some special dietary requirements may be catered to. A glass of complementary wine or a fine dessert are available most anytime. Of course, you may also find it therapautic to smell the roses in the season or feed the fish in the pond, feel cozy in front of the fireplace or pet the friendly outdoor cats. We want your Mélange experience so pleasant that you will want to come again and again to savor unforgettable impressions.

Conveniently located, Melange is just a short 20-min walk to historical Main Street Hendersonville. There is something for everyone in Downtown with museums for the young and experienced, antique shops, boutiques and specialty restaurants and with music, street dances, fairs and festivals and, ofcourse, art. Curb Market is a must see for old-fashioned hospitality and mountain heritage gifts . Area attractions like Biltmore Estate, Du Pont State Forest, Flat Rock Playhouse, Carl Sandburg National Historic Site, Blue Ridge Parkway and Chimney Rock Park are within 30 min driving time. • Fresh strawberries or a colorful fresh fruit plate, prepared for you. ($10 to $16), dependent on market prices;
• A plate of European chocolates and truffles, (contains nuts), ($12 to $15); dependent on market prices;
• A dozen fresh roses from nursery, ($20 to $25); specify color;
• 2 Slices of our very own Chocolate Mosaic- Italian style, semi-frozen, hazelnut fudge, ($10);
• A special made to order anniversary or birthday cake ($25), ask for suggestions;
• A bottle of nice champagne or wine placed in your room, (procured for you + $5 corking fee), specify brand or cost range or ask for suggestions;
• A scrumptious plate of imported cheeses, fresh fruits, vegetable strudel, mini quiches and gourmet crackers, ($30);
• Breakfast served in the Rose Suite with candlelight, ($30/morning);
• You may have a relaxation spa or deeper therapeutic massage session from nationally certified Massage Therapists in your room. Complete with massage board and oils. Charge will be $75 to $85 an hour depending on the therapy discipline. Sessions are tailored to each client's specific requests. Subject to availability
