Melange is conveniently situated for guest access to the many attractions of the blue ridge mountain region of western North Carolina. Local cities and towns include Hendersonville, Asheville, Brevard, Flat Rock, and others.

The Dupont State Forest is one of the most popular state parks. You will find hiking and mountain biking and equestrian trails and several waterfalls within 10,000 acres. On the way visit also Holmes Educational Forest.45 mins.
- Occupying more than eight thousand acres of land, the Biltmore Estate is the largest private home in America. Attractions include the house, gardens, and winery.40 mins.

- Established in 1968 as a national Historic Site, the 240 acre Carl Sandburg Home, Connemera, has a colorful past. Christopher Memminger, who later became secretary of the Confederate Treasury, built the house in 1838. Later, noted Lincoln biographer, Carl Sandburg purchased the home after a visit to the Western North Carolina Mountains.15 mins.
- The Chimney Rock Park and Lake Lure is east of Hendersonville via US 64E/74E.. The park features a wonderful view from atop the Chimney rock, which is accessible by stairs or elevator. Historic Hendersonville is one of the area's premier historic shopping districts. It is a five minute drive from Melange or a pleasant 20 minute walk along Hendersonville's broad Fifth Avenue. Visit specialty stores, antique shops, Curb Market, Mineral and Lapidary Museum and dine at a variety of wonderful restaurants.5 mins.
- Jump Off Rock is a scenic overlook that provides a panoramic view of the Blue Ridge and Pisgah Ranges.This small town park has an elevation of 3100 feet, over a thousand feet higher than Melange. On a clear day one can easily see the Asheville Regional Airport and Mount Pisgah.10 mins.
