First Floor
Indoor events are highlighted by the eclectic and exotic European decor of the historic home: marble floors and fireplaces, gilded mirrors, antique lamps, and oriental carpets. The full first floor has a capacity for about 80 standing or 50 seated guests who can move between the Greenhouse and Turquoise (dining) rooms, the Grand Foyer, the Living Room and the heated the East Porch. A popular scene is that of the newly wed couple strolling down the open mahogany staircase to the applause of their guests. A sound system is available for the music of your choice.
East Porch
The East Porch features french doors opened in the warmer months. The porch adjoins the Living Room and the Mediterranean Courtyard
Breakfast Greenhouse
An annex to the Turquoise Room, the Greenhouse is where breakfast is served formally with candlelight during winter months. Also a popular venue for candlelight dinners and intimate-sized receptions.
Turquoise (Dining) Room
Site of formal dining, located in the west wing. Features hidden mirror doors that open into the butler's pantry and to the breakfast greenhouse.
Living Room
The living room is inspired after that of the gallery of Mirrors at Versailles. Also features marble fireplace, antique lamps, and a Thonet sitting group.
Foyer
The foyer of Melange has much of the old French character left: Oriental carpets on the marble floor, ornate mirrors, an antique crystal chandelier and an accenting green curtain. The living room is to the left, and the study and turquoise (dining) room are to the right. The open staircase leads to the five guest rooms and to Turkish Parlor.
