For garden weddings, our forte, we offer you several venues where you can create your dream ceremony and reception.
The Garden Ceremony (and Rehearsal Dinner or Bridal Brunch)
Pan Fountain Lawn and Patio
Nestled between lush greenery and the main house is this intimate, multi-level grass and patio combination for the wedding ceremony. The Romanesque arbor and the antique pan fountain are splendid backdrops for exchanging vows. Capacity is for 100-140 seated guests on two levels. Wedding or background music may be piped onto the venue from our own outdoor sound system. The old maple tree dominates the cut stone patio, which itself is a popular setting for a social hour gathering with appetizers and beverages or for small outdoor rehearsal dinners.
Matisse Fountain Lawn
Named after the bronze of the French artist, Henry Matisse adorning its fountain, this park-like setting is surrounded on three sides by gardens. Located on the north side of the historic house and ideal for big weddings, the site will accommodate over 200 seated guests on the grass. The ceremony takes place under an antique wrought iron arbor. The set-up of a tent is permitted. The bridal party and the guests move then on the Pan Fountain Lawn or into the Tile Pavilion - ideally separating ceremony and reception venues.
Mediterranean Courtyard
This venue showcases the charm of a typical courtyard scene from southern Europe. The old brick wall with its arches and wrought iron scrolls and the massive iron gazebo with hanging plants and candles create a refreshingly elegant ambiance. An ideal spot for small outdoor weddings and rehearsal dinners, the courtyard has a capacity for 25-35 seated guests and may be combined with the East Porch.
The Reception (and Rehearsal Dinner)
Tile Pavilion
Concealed in the gardens on the south side of the historic house, the picturesque Tile Pavilion is a is a covered reception and party area. Under the roof are a bar for beverage service and coffee station, ornate arbor for cake cutting, dance floor and two raised platforms for live music, wedding ceremony or appetizer service. Tile panels, mission style ceiling and floor lamps, and vintage wrought iron tables and chairs highlight this inspiring venue. Seating layout and capacity is for 125-135 guests with overflow seating on the adjoining Pan Fountain Patio and the Mediterranean Court. The pavilion is equipped with drop curtains and rental patio heaters to ensure your outdoor event may take place even in inclement weather. A CD system is available for background music when needed. Supporting facilities for the pavilion include a formal buffet line with a copper roof for food service and two other covered stations for displaying your pictures, favors, programs, gifts or the guest registry book.
Indoors/First Floor
Small indoor weddings and rehearsal dinners are hosted in the first floor of the historic home highlighted by its eclectic olde-world décor. Guests move between the grand Living Room and the East Porch (and Mediterranean Court) and the Greenhouse and Turquoise rooms. Seating capacity for dining is for 30-40 guests .Traditional photo scenes are of the exchange of vows in front of the large marble fireplace and the bride strolling down the open mahogany staircase in the Foyer.
