Our goal at the Mélange is to provide you with the supreme experience of elegance and charm on your wedding day- the biggest day of your life! When you book your wedding at the Mélange, you will have exclusive use of, and access to, all of our finely-appointed facilities and beautiful gardens. The Mélange can accommodate the most intimate weddings for a small and select gathering or larger weddings of 150+ guests. Indeed, if your wedding party includes thirty or more guests,  we will guaranty your privacy by assuring that no other event occurs on the property on the day of your wedding.

The grounds and the historic home at the Mélange offer a number of magnificent  location options for your wedding- both indoors and outdoors - each with its own distinct ambiance and flavor. Imagine nuptials before a delightful fountain or glorious blooming roses, or in a Mediterranean Courtyard; and photos next to a large marble fireplace, on a sweeping staircase, or beneath an ancient maple tree! Perhaps your wedding in one area, and your reception in another; and your guests enjoying the grounds as you are taking photos? Seemingly endless options, as noted below, all with beautiful surroundings!

Where a back-up plan against inclement weather is necessary, the Tile Pavilion is versatile and spacious to host both the ceremony and the reception.  

Tile Pavilion: 

Named for the panels of colorful tiles adorning its walls, the Tile Pavilion is located in the gardens. With a roof and 2750 square feet of spacious splendor, this is an ideal and versatile venue for your big event. It has a dance floor, a platform for live music, a bar for beverage service and an antique wrought iron arbor for cake display. It may be heated into late Fall. The ambiance is uplifting and airy. An additional 2200 square feet provides space for a formal buffet line and two additional stations for pictures, favors, gifts and a guest registry.

Capacity: 175 guests for your ceremony or a hors d'oeuvre-only reception; 150 seated guests for your reception or rehearsal dinner

Matisse Fountain Lawn:

A bronze statue of the French artist Henry Matisse adorns this gorgeous fountain. The wrought iron arbor with magnificent blooming  roses is a breathtaking back drop. Set against an expansive lawn and 6500 square feet to spread out, this is an ideal setting for large weddings and priceless pictures.

Capacity: 175 seated guests for your ceremony.

Pan Fountain Lawn and Patio:

Nestled between lush greenery and with the backdrop of  roses and the main house, this two-level grass and patio area of 2200 square feet is the perfect site for a more intimate wedding.  A timeless, ancient maple tree anchors the popular cut-stone patio. The Romanesque arbor with its antique bronze Pan Fountain is a splendid location for exchanging vows and for taking ever-lasting photos!

Capacity : 100 guests  for your ceremony; 40 seated guests for a rehearsal dinner; and 175 guests guests for a social hour or hors d'oeuvre-only reception.

Mediterranean Courtyard and East Porch:

Creating the old-world charm and elegance of a courtyard in southern Europe, this is at the heart of what we strive for at the Mélange. The massive iron gazebo, highlighted with an Ottoman style brick wall adorned with arches and wrought iron scrolls,  is the ideal spot for small outdoor weddings and rehearsal dinners.  The courtyard may be combined with the East Porch and the Pan Fountain Patio for a social hour or a heavy hors d'oeuvre only reception. Mediterranean Court is 650 square feet with an additional 500 square feet on the East Porch.

Capacity: 50 seated guests  for your wedding or a rehearsal dinner;  75 guests for a social hour or hors d'oeuvre-only reception.
